When we now look at the area that is officially Green Point common, it is hard to see why its called an example. The developments that took place before the World Cup has turned the region into a suburb ultra-modern and popular choice for people who want to open a bed and breakfast in Cape Town, said that while the suburbs continue to attract tourists long after the sound of vuvuzelas subsided. The land that now holds the stadium, Somerset Hospital, Gulf, Hamilton Rugby Club and the now-defunct Fort Wynyard was once the land has been acquired by the Government of the Union as a common ground in the city of Cape Town. Holiday homes in the area is quick to point out the existing attractions in the suburbs, but few people understand the historical significance of Green Point in the sporting history of Cape Town.
