Safari Holidays in Namibia Etosha National Park
Etosha National Park is located in the Kunene Region in northwestern Namibia. It shares borders with the regions Otjozondjupa, Oshana and Oshikoto. The park has a large dry salt pan at its center, with many water holes strategically placed. This salt-pan is known as the Etosha Pan. ”
You can choose to go into the park itself, as it has excellent road and with a card on arrival in one of four goals. Or, to one guided safaris, which usually begins in the park at least once a day.
Etosha was established in 1907, when Namibia was a German colony of South West Africa. “The park is only about 22% of their original area of 100,000 square kilometers, but it is still an important area to protect wildlife. In this area, you’re probably a African wild dog endangered as the Caprivi Strip provides habitat for them effectively. In addition, you will see buffalo, hippos, lions and elephants. If you’re really lucky to leave on your safari, you can even see Kudu, Roan, and leopards.
Holiday Safari Skeleton Coast National Park
Another area that you visit on your safari holiday in Namibia, the Skeleton Coast National Park is the northern Atlantic coast of Namibia and Angola, south of the Kunene River, south of Swakopmund. This region takes its name from the whale and many bleached bones of seals that cover much of the coast and the notable skeletal wrecks caused by protruding rocks in areas of fog.
It is the ocean of dense fog in this area for much of the year because of high winds and less than 10 millimeters of rainfall per year. It is a constant, heavy surf on the beaches, making it impossible to launch a boat from the coast.
The northern half of the National Park Skeleton Coast is designated as wilderness, while the rest of the coast of West Coast National Recreation Area is known. The most remarkable features of the park is the large seal colony at Cape Fria, clay castles of the Mountain Hoarisib Agate and salt marshes. You can also find lions, giraffes, baboons, springbok, black rhino and desert birds common in this area.
