Officially, the colors mean on the flag are as follows:

o Green: agriculture and rural areas in Zimbabwe

o Yellow: wealth of minerals in the country

o Red: The blood shed during the war of liberation

o Black: heritage and ethnic origin of native Africans in Zimbabwe

o White: Peace

The flag of Zimbabwe was adopted April 18, 1980. The soapstone bird featured on the flag represents a statuette of a bird found in the ruins of Great Zimbabwe. The bird symbolizes the history of Zimbabwe, the red star below it symbolizes the revolutionary struggle for liberation and peace. before 1980, was the flag of Rhodesia, which changed color a few times.

A national flag is proud of the country and is a symbol of unity and progress and are immediately recognizable to all Zimbabweans.
